Essentially our goal is to create products and services that enhance user experiences and improve peoples daily lives. Our work concentrates on product usability, ergonomics and aesthetics. We use a pragmatic design approach to develop, test and refine an idea from a concept to an intelligent resolved solution that satisfies your business requirements.
Founded in 2009, we are a dynamic team of industrial designers based in the heart of Sheffield, the doorstep of the peak district national park. You can find us most weekends outdoors be it climbing or hurling ourselves down mountains on bikes. We are a diligent energetic team.
Founders Dan Taylor & Luke Lunde-Pickover met whilst studying Product Design at Sheffield Hallam University. They founded the consultancy sharing and obsession for user-centric design.
Dan continues his relationship with the university by lecturing on Product and Furniture design courses. Desperate to see design ideas come to life he is keen to explore design ideas using quick sketch models, test rigs and mock ups. His work is more focussed on the downstream elements of the design process, looking at manufacturing, materials and design validation.
Dan is a keen mountain biker and lover of all things muddy. He can be found riding the trails of the Peak District on a weekend and obsessing over bike components and outdoors equipment.

Luke also continues his relationship with the university lecturing on sketching techniques from time to time. Specialising in the upstream elements of the design process Luke is more focussed on ideation and concept generation. His strengths are in rendering and visualisation with a good eye for detail.
Enthusiatic about all things outdoors in the elements, outside of design Luke is obsessive about two things; bicycles and climbing. The majority of his spare time is spent bouldering in the Peak District. His ultimate ambition is to cycle around the world.

Through various methods of research we identify how people will engage with the product, the ergonomic and aesthetic demands, market needs and competitor products to inform the design process.
Our research results provide a solid foundation for our ideas. We explore potential solutions and share concepts between the design team. On complex projects we may invite industry specialists to become part of the discussion to inform our ideas.
To effectively validate the concept, it is important to get an idea of scale, form, weight and product features. We build sketch models so we can evaluate the design quickly and efficiently. These models are used in basic testing and act as props for further discussion.
We use the best in Rapid prototyping and CNC fabrication technology to develop accurate prototypes which can be used to prove user ergonomics, mechanisms and aesthetics properties. Prototypes can be made using a wide range of materials which replicate final materials.
To refine the product, we design product detail using CAD models and digital renders. Concepts develop into fully detailed, technically accurate products.
Visualisations are used to communicate different aspects of the concept including features, aesthetics, usability and context. We produce renders, illustrations, photographs and appearance models which can be presented to potential users, manufacturers or an investor.
