Yesterday I gave a talk to students at Leeds Metropolitan University keen to know what it takes to start a design business when they leave their studies. Other themes included sustainability in design and the skills required as a design professional.

Attendees included third year Product Design students as well as a group of keen first year students.

It was nice to discuss what we’ve learned whilst developing Click, to give people an insight into the challenges you face when starting a design business.

The Leeds Met Design department has a buzzing community of young designers looking to develop their skills alongside a concern for sustainability through design, which is key to anyone in the design profession.
